THE NEW FOREST & HAMPSHIRE WARTIME ASSOCIATION

Exploring Second World War History

“Raising awareness of WW2 history in the New Forest and Hampshire area”

The NFHWA is a collective of local volunteers and members who are interested in Second World War history in the area. The association was established to raise awareness of wartime history in Hampshire and the New Forest.

We aim to do this by collecting, documenting, researching, preserving, presenting, and sharing information to help people learn about and discuss our WW2 history and heritage.

You can help too.

If you have any stories, documents, or photos you would like to share with us and the NFHWA community, please do get in touch. We may also be able to help you with research into a family member or local wartime story.

What we do

The New Forest & Hampshire Association volunteers and members
undertake the following initiatives to fulfil on our aim.

REGULAR GUEST SPEAKERS & EVENTS

Wartime talks and history events in the New Forest

From 2022 we will be hosting regular guest speakers at East Boldre Village Hall in the New Forest, to raise money for this historic building.

It was built in 1917/18 as part of the Royal Flying Corps training airfield during WW1. It has a stunning stage, large hall, and various rooms including displays about the local airfields.
